My truth or your truth, it doesn’t matter. This new millennium finds us, all together, in a worn out world that has been destroyed by our own hands; fighting for fleeting gods, power, and manipulation. What a strange and distorted life this is where we kill in the name of God as if we were raping for the sheer pleasure of actually doing it. An existence where God is the Essence of money and status instead of the spiritual deity we once so admired. It’s all upside down and the truth is the trick of all these things, the idiocy or them. Truth should be in a minor scale, quiet and unspoken, helping us the raise respect through sharing a broader perspective. A perspective in which we are all just trying to make it a better life, a life with no more worn out cables. Now is the time for a change.

The above extract is the concept of the recent album by Brooklyn-based project, Loor Ambient. The idea of Loor Ambient began in the late 1990’s when Leandro Ganzero was playing guitar as part of a trip-hop trio called Setu Secreto. With the band he experimented with electronic music more fully. He had also always been interested in ambient, and as he became more versed in the style, he found himself in the midst of an ambient creation of his own. When Setu Secreto broke up, he finally began to pour all of his efforts into the solo project. The technique of blending raw sounds and digital samples is the primary focus for the project and is mixed with his personal expressions, thoughts and feelings.

‘Truth in a Minor Scale’ is the fourth release (according to the official site) under Loor Ambient, and I must say it is quite a relaxing album if you’re in the mood for it! It’s not entirely what I like, but it is definitely not unlistenable. I just think I like the concept of the album more than the actual music. It’s definitely a good album for those who are into ambient, chill-out and electronic music. There is also a Spanish influence threaded through the album (the titles and sound of the guitar on some tracks). I think my favourite track on the album would have to be Vomitv – I just love the guitar!
