On Thursday, Orange County-based punk rock band T.S.O.L released their 30th Anniversary album Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Free Downloads for free via Hurley.com. The band (including original guitarist Ron Emory, bassist Mike Roche, keyboardist Greg Kuehn, vocalist Jack Grisham, and Tiny Bubs) reunited to record their 16th album in December. The band is also preparing to hit the road with a U.S. tour planned for this month.

Although I’m not that familiar with T.S.O.L’s past efforts, I quite like the album. I always like when I can listen to an album straight through without having to change any of the tracks. The album also seemed to fly by, which can be seen as a good thing but also means that it kind of passed me by without any tracks jumping out at me as really great. This changed on second listen, with tracks such as ‘Modern Girl’ and ‘Go To Bed Sleepy’ sticking in my mind, but again there was nothing amazing. I think it’s probably an album mainly for big fans of T.S.O.L, but if you like punk rock/deathrock & fancy an easy listening album, this one’s for you. It’s great for a free album & pleasant enough.

You can download it for free here.
