Originating from Washington, United States, are Red Queen Theory. Their name derives from the Red Queen’s race and quote in Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass: “It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place”. The band also liked the dark and regal sound to the name. I would say the music is gothic and alternative with metal elements. Their influences range from Sepultura to Queen and they are also influenced by authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. They also state they are above all influenced by ‘the bleak, depressing and grey Seattle winters’. They have said in interviews that they aim to help the listener escape, taking them somewhere else for a while. I think that they definitely do that with the music; with fantasy themed lyrics and epic music accompanied by beautiful female vocals – the music sounds like it comes from a far-away land!
Recommended Listening: ‘The Dream and the Tomb’, ‘Of Ravens and Blood’

Yea! RQT has finally made it to Facebook! Their music is crunchy w/o being brittle and melodic w/o being poppy. In other words: sexy, sensual, primal, provocative, and intelligent. Be warned, this music may have you gyrating around your house, thinking that seducing the pizza delivery guy is a good idea! Yes, it is that…stimulating!
